The DAHUI and Quick-Deploy side awnings give GWM touring owners two different sets of published features to compare. The DAHUI side awning lists 640D silver-coated Oxford cloth, two nominal sizes and approximately 7.5 kg tent weight. The Quick-Deploy awning lists an aluminium case, five-layer Oxford fabric and included poles, guy lines, pegs and mounting hardware. Start with the supplied size, complete installed mass and rack connection, then choose the format that suits your stops and packing routine.
Listings checked 17 October 2026. The cover comes from our Quick-Deploy product gallery; the three diagrams summarise listing details and fitting questions. We have not timed deployment or tested either awning's weather performance.
How do the two listings compare?
| Detail | DAHUI side awning tent | Quick-Deploy side awning |
|---|---|---|
| Fabric description | 640D silver-coated Oxford cloth | Water-resistant five-layer Oxford fabric |
| Listed canopy sizes | 2.3 × 3 m and 2.5 × 3 m mentioned | Dimensions should be requested |
| Listed mass | About 7.5 kg tent weight | Complete mass should be requested |
| Packed information | Package about 2450 × 110 × 110 mm | Aluminium case; closed dimensions should be requested |
| Support equipment | Confirm the full contents for the supplied configuration | Poles, guy lines, pegs and mounting hardware listed as included |
| Mounting | Suitable side rack or roof platform required | Suitable roof rack or cross-bar mounting points required |
The table compares what the pages publish. It cannot establish which awning is faster to erect, quieter on the road or more resistant to rain. The fabric descriptions also use different terms: a 640D specification and a layer count do not supply a common waterproof-performance measurement. Ask for the fabric specification, seam details and care instructions if those are central to your purchase.
Which DAHUI size will I receive?
The DAHUI page mentions 2.3 × 3 m and 2.5 × 3 m configurations, while the current store option does not present a clear size selector. Confirm the supplied size before ordering. Ask which dimension runs along the rack and which projects from the vehicle; that determines the parked footprint and the amount of rack length needed.
Those rectangles have nominal areas of 6.9 m² and 7.5 m², calculated from the stated dimensions. Actual useful shade depends on canopy shape, mounting height, sun angle and how the fabric is tensioned. Plan the arrangement around the table, chairs and access you need, including room for poles and guy lines. A larger rectangle can be less convenient at a narrow roadside stop even if it suits an open campsite.
The listed 2450 mm package length is also useful for delivery planning, but packaging dimensions are not a confirmed closed installation size. Request the awning's actual closed length and the position of its mounting brackets. Similarly, the approximate 7.5 kg tent weight should be clarified: does it include poles, cover and brackets, or only part of the assembly?

What comes with the Quick-Deploy awning?
The Quick-Deploy listing identifies an aluminium case and explicitly includes support poles, guy lines, pegs and mounting hardware. That gives a clearer starting equipment list for a buyer who wants a case-based system. The installation gallery shows an example canopy and rack arrangement; ask for the packing list and current fitting instructions for the item being supplied.
The page does not publish a complete weight, canopy dimensions or closed-case dimensions. Request those figures before comparing it with DAHUI. Also ask for bracket type, bolt size, mounting-hole spacing and the minimum supported rack arrangement. Included mounting hardware still needs to match the rack on your vehicle. A TANK 300, 400 or 500 label describes the intended application; the actual connection depends on the rack or cross bars fitted to that particular build.

How should an awning fit into a GWM roof setup?
Give the seller your rack brand and model, mounting-channel or bracket photos, vehicle build details and the side where you want the awning. Measure the available rack length and the distance between suitable attachment points. Ask the fitter to confirm that the proposed brackets support the closed assembly and the loads imposed by its deployed canopy according to the supplied instructions.
Record the full installed awning mass, including case or cover and brackets, in your roof-equipment total. Check that total against the vehicle, rack and mounting-system requirements for your intended use. Our roof water-tank guide shows why additional touring equipment needs a shared load plan: water, containers, rack and awning all use the same finite allowance.
Check the closed arrangement against the doors, tailgate, side ladder, storage box and overall vehicle height. Then assess the open arrangement: can people still reach the rear cargo area, and are the pole and line positions practical for the way you camp? A mounting position that looks tidy when packed may interfere with another accessory once everything is opened.

Which format suits your touring routine?
For a planned campsite, canopy size and the space around your kitchen or seating area may be your first priorities. DAHUI's published size options help begin that layout, once the supplied configuration is confirmed. For frequent stops, the Quick-Deploy case and included support kit may be the features you want to examine first. Request a setup demonstration so you can judge reach, handling and packing effort for your own vehicle height; the product name alone does not provide an elapsed setup time.
DAHUI's page also carries supplier claims about wind resistance and UV blocking. Ask for their test basis and operating instructions if you intend to rely on them. Follow the supplied support, securing and packing directions for either awning, including its stated weather limits.
Before placing the order, obtain four clear answers: the supplied canopy size, complete packed dimensions and mass, included components, and the brackets that suit your rack. With those confirmed, the choice becomes much easier to relate to the way you actually travel. Use the DAHUI page and Quick-Deploy page to send a fitment enquiry with rack photos and your preferred mounting side.
