TANK 300 Key Shells: RAWME or MTF STORM?

Black key shell shown in the RAWME TANK 300 product gallery, with button openings and lower attachment point

Choose a TANK 300 key shell by the original fob's shape and the work needed to fit it, not by the vehicle badge alone. The RAWME alloy shell and rope emphasises a shell-and-carrying-loop arrangement. The MTF STORM case offers black and silver and explicitly excludes chip modules. Neither listing establishes compatibility with every TANK 300 key.

What differs between RAWME and MTF STORM?

Question RAWME shell and rope MTF STORM case
Main listing description Alloy key shell with an integrated key-rope design Case for compatible original key electronics
Current selector A single default option Black or silver
Explicit component warning Confirm the complete supplied contents Chip modules are not included
Vehicle application TANK 300 key shapes; exact fob match required Compatible petrol/hybrid key shapes; exact fob match required
Important follow-up Button feel, signal range, emergency-key and ring access Compatible transfer of original components and function checks

These descriptions do not establish that the products use the same internal mounting method. Ask whether your proposed item fits around an assembled fob or requires moving original components. A product name containing shell or case is not enough to answer that question for the supplied version.

The RAWME description attributes an anti-oxidation isolation layer and reduced fingerprint marks to the supplier listing. That is not a published corrosion-life, drop-test or water-ingress rating. We have not independently tested those effects and do not use them to rank one product as more durable than the other.

The catalogue example illustrates the shell-and-loop layout. Confirm the dispatched contents and exact fob fit; the photograph is not evidence of a tested drop or corrosion rating.

How do you match the actual key fob?

Send clear photographs of the front, back, edges and emergency-key release of your original key. Include the build year, grade and powertrain, but use those details alongside the photographs rather than instead of them. Both current product pages leave the complete model-year application unspecified.

Compare the outer outline, thickness, button positions and attachment points. A case can look broadly correct in a front photograph while leaving a release mechanism or side control inaccessible. Ask the seller to identify the exact supplied shell against your fob, including how its parts close and how the emergency key is removed afterwards.

The MTF gallery shows a more visibly framed housing with a carrying loop and examples in two finishes. Its picture is useful for discussing the shape, not for proving which internal fob revision it accepts. Likewise, a pictured button symbol does not establish that your vehicle has the corresponding feature.

Two catalogue finishes are shown together for comparison. Confirm which single colour you are ordering, what is included and whether the housing matches your original key.

Does a new shell mean a new electronic key?

No replacement electronic key is established by these listings. MTF expressly says its chip modules are not included. Its instructions discuss transferring the original blade, battery and electronic module only where compatible, while avoiding damage to the chip, buttons and waterproof seal.

That is a reason to clarify the fitting task before purchase, not a reason to dismantle an unfamiliar fob from a gallery image. Ask for the supplied product's instructions. If you are unsure whether the original parts can be moved safely, use an appropriately qualified automotive locksmith or key specialist rather than improvising.

The RAWME page also asks buyers to check the key outline and button layout. Obtain its component list and assembly requirements separately; do not assume MTF's explicit exclusion is the complete packing specification for RAWME. Keep any cutting, programming or electronic-key replacement requirement distinct from buying an accessory housing.

Neither page establishes an upgraded immobiliser, an anti-theft certification or a stronger vehicle security system. We also have no basis to promise unchanged radio performance merely because a shell fits physically. Those are separate questions from its appearance and carrying loop.

How should you compare the strap and finish?

Think about where you carry the key: a trouser pocket, handbag or a dedicated place at home. Compare the total assembled size, weight and loop arrangement with that routine. The current pages do not provide a complete set of dimensions and weights, so request those details if bulk is important to you.

MTF's selector offers black and silver. RAWME's current page has one default selection; ask which exact finish and loop combination will be dispatched rather than assuming every gallery detail represents a separate order option. A photo containing two cases is not, by itself, a two-case package description.

Use this catalogue angle to discuss bulk, side access and loop attachment. It is not a waterproofing or impact test; verify the supplied version and original-key compatibility.

What should you check after fitting?

With a suitable backup access plan, check ordinary lock and unlock operation, button movement and the emergency-key release before relying on the assembled item. Check remote start only if the vehicle is equipped with that function. A different housing does not add a feature that the original key or vehicle lacks.

The RAWME listing specifically calls for checking signal range and key-ring clearance. Use the original key's normal operation as the comparison rather than inventing a universal distance target. If controls bind, a release is covered or operation changes, stop and resolve the fit instead of treating it as a normal trade-off.

For a wider cabin-accessory plan, our TANK 300 interior cup-holder guide addresses a different everyday-use problem. For key-specific ordering, send the two product links and fob photographs through our contact page. The useful choice is the confirmed housing and fitting method, not simply the more elaborate photograph.

Common questions

Will the case fit every TANK 300 model year?

Neither current listing supplies that complete application chart. Match the actual fob and confirm the supplied version before ordering.

Does MTF STORM include the electronic chip?

Its written listing explicitly says chip modules are not included. Clarify the other supplied components and the compatibility of original parts before assembly.

Does an alloy shell automatically improve security or waterproofing?

No such certified improvement is established here. Treat appearance, handling, original function and any tested security or water-resistance claim as separate matters.
